Symetal specialises in the production of high-quality aluminium foil products (from 6 to 200 microns), primarily used in packaging solutions for the food, pharmaceutical and tobacco industries. With over 40 years of expertise and export activity in more than 70 countries, Symetal provides innovative and competitive, high value-added solutions tailored to the needs of even the most demanding international customers. Symetal is an aluminium segment subsidiary of ElvalHalcor, a leading global industrial producer of aluminium and copper products for dynamically growing markets.

Symetal operates two advanced production facilities in Greece equipped with cutting-edge technology.

The foil rolling plant (Oinofyta, Viotia) has an annual production capacity of 52,000 tons and specialises in the production of plain aluminium foil in a variety of gauges and alloys for diverse applications such as flexible and pharmaceutical packaging, food containers, EV batteries and various technical applications.
The foil converting plant (Mandra, Attica) has an annual production capacity of 31,500 tons and specialises in the conversion of aluminium foil into packaging applications, carrying out aluminium foil coated and/or laminated with paper for products used in food, pharmaceutical and cigarette industries. A state-of-the-art lacquer production unit operates in Mandra, Attica (lacquer is an important auxiliary material for the converting plant). The unit’s annual lacquer production capacity amounts to 2,000 tons.

A strategic partner to major consumer, food and pharmaceutical packaging manufacturers, Symetal leverages its long-term experience and extensive technical expertise, emphasizing sustainable practices and circular economy.

Symetal is certified as per ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 50001:2018. The converting plant is further certified as per ISO 15378:2017, ISO 22000:2018, FSSC 22000 (V5.1) and FSC^® Chain of Custody FSC-C127612 (FSC-STD-40-004 V3-1). Symetal has also achieved ASI Performance Standard certification, underscoring its dedication to sustainability.

Elval Group is one of the leading aluminium processing and trading groups in Europe and the major constituent of Viohalco’s aluminium segment.

Elval: Elval is active in the production of a wide range of rolled aluminium products. Elval’s offices and production facilities are located in Oinofyta, Greece.

Symetal: Symetal S.A. is an Elval subsidiary produces an extensive line of aluminium foil products both plain and converted, providing a variety of solutions to a number of companies, primarily in the food, tobacco and pharmaceutical sectors. Symetal manufacturing takes place at two production plants located in the Oinofyta and Mandra regions of Greece.

Elval Colour: Elval Colour S.A. with production plant in Saint Thomas, Greece, manufactures and sells a complete range of coated aluminium products for the building envelope. Custom- made solutions in application and colour shade are core competencies.

Vepal S.A.: Vepal S.A. with production unit in Thiva, Greece, engages in aluminium coil and sheet coating.

Bridgnorth Aluminium Ltd.: Bridgnorth Aluminium Ltd. is headquartered in the United Kingdom and produces lithographic coils, semi-finished coils and electrical strip for transformer windings.

Viomal S.A.: Viomal S.A. is a producer of aluminium rolling shutter and insect screen systems, spacers for double glazing and retractable security doors. Its plant is located in Evia, Greece.

UACJ Elval Heat Exchanger Materials (UEHEM): UEHEM was established in 2015 and is the joint venture of Elval and the Japanese giant United Aluminium Company of Japan (UACJ Corp.), engaged in the trade of heat exchangers for the European automotive industry.
