In the Golden league of the Business IT Excellence (BITE) Awards 2017
Symetal proudly received the Gold Award for its participation in the Business IT Excellence (BITE) Awards 2017. Its winning entry had the title “Slitting Optimisation for Symetal”. In addition, Symetal is one of the three companies from Greece, nominated as candidates for the WITSA (World Information Technology and Services Alliance) Global ICT Excellence Awards competition, which will be held on September in Taipei, Taiwan.
The Company participated in the category of organizations that have successfully utilized IT systems or have taken initiatives as users in the areas of applications, infrastructures, IT and communications services, as well as best practices for managing ICTs that support their business strategy.
A working team coming from five countries participated in the project, which included the implementation of an Advanced Supply Chain Planning and Optimisation system based on Software provided by the Dutch company Quintiq.
The award ceremony -an outstanding technology celebration- took place on Thursday, June 29th in Athens, Greece. It was organized by the magazine Boussias Communications and the ELTRUN Laboratory of the Athens University of Economics and Business and supported by the Hellenic Professionals Informatics Society, the IT Service Management Forum, the Hellenic Management Association, the Hellenic CIO Forum and others.
According to the average of their marks, candidates received a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award. Evaluation criteria included project innovation, significance for the sector, benefits for the company and its stakeholders/ partners, project methodology, implementation and utilization approach.
