Symetal earns Platinum Rating once again in EcoVadis Sustainability assessment
In August, Symetal was awarded the EcoVadis Platinum Rating for a second consecutive year, placing the company to the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the “Manufacture of basic precious and other non-ferrous metals” industry.
Symetal achieved an overall score of 80 out of 100. The Platinum Rating reflects the high quality of Symetal’s sustainability management system and underscores its commitment to promoting transparency throughout the value chain.
EcoVadis, a global leader in business sustainability ratings, uses a robust assessment methodology to evaluate the quality of a company’s sustainability management system through its policies, actions, and results. The assessment focuses on four key themes: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. These criteria are based on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000.
In addition to its own assessment, Symetal has established a strategic partnership with EcoVadis to evaluate its main suppliers on sustainability issues, as part of its Responsible Sourcing Initiative.
Gabriela Hatzistratidi, Quality Assurance & Sustainability Manager (Foil Converting Plant), stated: “We are honoured to have earned the EcoVadis Platinum Rating. Sustainability, environmental consciousness and social responsibility are core principles of Symetal. We continuously strive to improve our performance in environmental protection, social responsibility and governance practices to promote a sustainable future.”
Fedon Paraskevopoulos, Quality Assurance & Sustainability Manager (Foil Rolling Plant), added: “Receiving the EcoVadis Platinum Sustainability Rating again motivates us to continue our efforts in social and environmental responsibility, creating value for all stakeholders.”
