Symetal to further improve supply chain transparency through Sedex membership renewal
On March 31, 2016, Symetal -operating on a basis of a “Code of Conduct”- renewed its Sedex membership for another two years as a B Member (Supplier). The Company first joined Sedex as a supplier member back in 2014, reporting data related to four key CSR areas -Labour Standards, Health & Safety, the Environment and Business Ethics.
Being a not for profit membership organisation, Sedex (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange), provides an online platform which gives companies the opportunity to present their business practices and make them accessible to customers and/or suppliers. It has three membership types that reflect the different levels of functionality available in the Sedex system for:
- Buyers (A Members)
- Buyers/Suppliers (AB Members) and
- Suppliers (B Members)
Sedex is dedicated to generating transparency through the provision of a secure, confidential and user-friendly data exchange and to driving improvements in responsible and ethical business practices in global supply chains in general.
Sedex membership renewal reflects Symetal’s commitment to continuous improvement as far as transparency and knowledge on CSR related issues in its supply chain performance are concerned. It also demonstrates the willingness of the company to continuously move towards meeting the highest international standards.
